Core Engineering carries out geotechnical investigations across Northland using hand auger surveys, dynamic probe testing (DPSH), CPT and trial pits. We assess soil bearing capacity, groundwater, liquefaction potential and slope stability to give you a complete picture of your site before design begins.
Our geotechnical reports are written to support building and resource consent applications with Whangarei District Council, Kaipara District Council, Far North District Council and Northland Regional Council - and are accepted by these councils without amendment.
Northland terrain and high annual rainfall mean slope stability is a genuine risk on many sites. We carry out stability analyses using industry-standard software, calculate Factors of Safety under static and seismic loading, and design remediation measures where required.
We provide geotechnical input for retaining wall design, earthworks specifications and fill compaction monitoring - ensuring ground conditions are properly accounted for from the start of design right through to construction sign-off.
Our geotechnical team works directly alongside our structural and civil engineers in the same firm - so investigation findings flow straight into building design without coordination delays or translation errors between separate consultants.

Core Engineering Solutions is founded on the principle that genuinely qualified, multi-discipline engineers should work together as one team. That means a single point of contact, coordinated documentation, and practical outcomes - not complexity for its own sake.
Based in Whangarei with an office in Waipu, we serve the full Northland region - including Mangawhai, Kerikeri, Dargaville, Kaitaia and the Far North. Geotechnical engineering you can rely on, from people who know Northland ground conditions first-hand.
